Show your dogs they are Best In Show with SunButter Dog Treats. Since the prestigious annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show just wrapped up (way to go, Banana Joe!), we thought we’d share one of our favorite four-legged friends recipes. For this one, we even let the dogs in to the test kitchen.
We used a very basic recipe, then dressed up portions of the batch with some extras. That springer spaniel above? He’s got a very fussy tummy, so we adapted for his needs (rice flour instead of whole wheat, just a bit of bacon, and no dairy or eggs.)
The labradoodle below? She’s survived eating very non-edible household items, so we added some indulgences for her SunButter dog treats.
SunButter Dog Treats
Ingredients
2 c. whole wheat flour (or rice flour)
1 c. milk (or water)
1 c. SunButter
1 Tbsp. baking powder
Optionals: 1 egg, diced bacon, 1 Tbsp. maple syrup, shredded cheese
Directions
Mix all together, form into ball, cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Roll out, cut out and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F. Turn oven off and leave cookies in 10 more minutes so they get crispy. Remove, cool and be a hero to your best friends.

We dressed some up for our neighbor dogs, too. (No, pup, those are not for you. And get down, for heaven’s sake!)
