SunButter Flax Seed Vanilla Nut-Free Granola

Breakfast is in. So is smart snacking. This nut-free granola recipe fits both. It’s simple to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand, and perfect sprinkled over yogurt, with berries and/or milk–or just by the handful as a nut-free snack.

Nut-free granola recipe with flax seeds, SunButter and dried berries, perfect for breakfast, lunch and handfuls of peanut-free snacks.

SunButter Flax Seed Vanilla Granola

Ingredients:

4 c. rolled oats

1/2 c. flax seeds

1/4 c. SunButter (we used SunButter Natural Omega-3, which has added flax seeds)

1/4 c. vegetable oil

1/4 c. honey

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

1 Tbsp. vanilla

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 c. dried fruits (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°F. In large bowl, combine oats and flax seeds. In a small saucepan, combine SunButter, vegetable oil, honey and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt. Drizzle syrup mixture over oats and flax seeds; toss to coat. Pour onto pan sprayed with nonstick spray, spread evenly. Bake, stirring every so often, at least 30 minutes. Cool, add dried fruits if desired. Break into chunks and store in airtight container.
