As a child, I adored peanut butter. Give me a jar of peanut butter and a spoon and I was one happy camper. I put peanut butter on all types of things from chocolate chip cookies to celery. Then in my junior year of high school my memories of eating peanut butter shifted from a happy little girl to life threatening reactions. I was devastated. I found peanut butter alternatives made from soy , but like a small percentage of peanut allergics soy does not sit well with me. Once again I was devastated, and started to face that fact that my favorite peanut butter treats were something of the past and I would have to deal with it. Then last October, and the Food Allergy Walk I was introduced to Sunbutter. Of course being someone with developing food allergies, five to date, I tried it reluctantly. One taste and I fell in love. I could not offer one once of suggestions, it is the perfect blend, and both reminds me of and fulfills my longing for my favorite childhood treats. I love the varieties and products (esp Suncups!!!) that you offer. My family, who other than me have no food allergies have switched from Peanut Butter to Sunbutter, and not out of an effort to protect me - rather because they swear it tastes better than Peanut Butter! In short, thank you for giving food allergics back what has been taken from us. You are the best!

I saw this product at our local QFC yesterday and thought it looked appealing. I love sunflower & pumpkin seeds but I try to avoid all seeds due to diverticulitis. I am so allergic to nuts it is not funny. I have almost died from the slightest of interaction with them. So I have to say it was with the greatest reluctance that I decided to try SunButter. I did and no reaction!!! Now I am totally hooked. I eat it every morning, sometimes just in a small container I take to work, without bread. I am not sure what is happening, but the Pick and Save, Piggly Wiggly and Super Value where I live do not stock it as of this week. What the heck is going on? I ordered it through the website, but am having a hard time believing I cannot just go pick it up. What is the deal here? This is simply the best product ever made for those of us with nut allergies (and my research has shown it to be many people). I have never met a single "nut allergy" person that does not go crazy for SunButter when I recommend it.

Love sunbutter! We were introduced to your product a few years ago after we discovered our daughter's food allergy to peanuts. I loved Jif, but love your SunBetter the most! I keep a 16oz jar in the frige and grab a tablespoon for my mid-afternoon protein pick-me-up. Sometimes I have SunButter on a Quaker Caramel Rice Cake for breakfast, too. I would love to see if anyone has created baking recipes with alternative flours, as I have developed gluten intolerance and can't eat wheat products anymore.

Both my daughters are allergic to peanuts. Sunbutter has been a lifesaver! It tastes so much closer to peanut butter than soy and my youngest brings sunbutter and fluff to school every day as her sandwich. We want to Thank you not only for a really delicious product but so much more importantly a safe product. Our 13yr old daughter had once been cleared of a severe peanut allergy at the end of second grade. She had never experineced anaphylaxis during those years. With that said, we had treated her as if the allergy still existed by not incorporating any peanut products as a part of her food options... Maybe a parents intuition. And now, she in the 7th grade, to our horror, this past christmas had accidentally ingested peanuts through a truffle. Her allergy had been lurking. She did go into anaphlaxis and now lives with an extreme threat to the allergy. There are so many people and companies that need to take a more serious respect and understaning for the dangers that be for all food allergy sufferers. So glad to have found Sunbutter! I developed an intolerance to nuts (both tree and peanuts) as an adult, and have been allergic to soy since I was an infant. Having enjoyed peanut butter, peanuts and other nuts from the time I was a small child, I missed being able to make sandwiches, trail mixes and other foods with peanut butter and nuts. My dad also has an intolerance to all nuts, as well as many other foods, including soy. Your product has allowed us to enjoy foods we couldn't enjoy before, and has helped both of us in our goal to have a healthier life style. When you have a lot of food allergies, it can be hard to find healthy foods to eat. With SunButter, we can eat more of a variety and work to live a healthier lifestyle.

Our daughter has a severe peanut allergy and although she never wanted peanut butter or the Sunbutter our son of course loved peanut butter. When we had to switch he was not happy, of course. He is happy with the Sunbutter as I am as a PB & J is still craved here and there. It is an answer to prayer although it can be difficult to find at times since many stores don't carry many jars at one time. Of course it is more expensive but worth it and has become a necessity. My son just started kindergarten, in a peanut and tree-nut free classroom. Peanut butter and jelly are a staple in our house, so we were concerned about what we would do for lunches. We just discovered Sunbutter and did our own taste test, as well as making a sandwich for our son. It's great! You can definitely taste the sunflower seed flavor, but it's remarkably similar in flavor and consistency to most natural creamy peanut butters. Just dont forget to give it a good stir to mix the natural oils back into the spread, and you're good to go! Thanks a million for saving us this year!

My 18 month old daughter has severe food allergies to wheat, egg, dairy, peanut, tree nut, and a few other fruits. I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE your product! I have a peanut allergy and we just found out our 1 1/2 year old daughter does too among other allergies. It's tough enough to find foods that are safe and toddler friendly. SunButter is amazing! I used to eat peanut butter before my allergy developed and I must say this tastes just like it...actually better! I couldn't believe it. I thought I might break out in a reaction after eating it because it tasted so close to the real thing. Our whole family loves your product. As a mother of a peanut allergic child, we cannot keep peanut butter in our home. This is a fantastic alternative to peanut butter! We are so grateful that we have another alternative. Both of our sons beg for it when it is out, and eat it like crazy when we have it. We have tried soy butter, and it was OK, but I did not like the gritty texture. Sunbutter has the smooth mouth-feel of peanut butter, plus a wonderful flavor. I participated in a FAAN walk in MD with my nephew and his family. His son has severe allergies, peanut and tree nut, among others. We received samples of Sunbutter Creamy in sip packs after the walk. I kept 2 packets to bring to a friend in NY who also has peanut allergies. He'd only pick the Sack Lunch on Fridays for the carrots and the orange sections. A week ago, he came home munching on carrots and I asked what he had for lunch. He said "peanut butter and jelly sandwich". I asked him if it was real peanut butter and he said "Yes!" I was concerned so I check the school's site and they had changed the soynut butter sandwiches to SunButter sandwiches. He can't tell the difference between your product and real peanut butter, and he's a pb addict! (Thankfully none of his schoolmates have the extreme allergy.) I'm going to switch over to SunButter in my house so that way he can have his Ant on a Log and apples with 'peanut butter' snacks for school that he loves to much and misses. Thank you so much!

I just wanted to say thanks for creating such a great product! I was diagnosed with nut allergies over 15 years ago. I actually did not have a clue that I even had nut allergies, but testing was proof positive. I was devastated, I loved peanut butter and now I was told to completely avoid it. Thank you so much for this amazing product! I have been allergic to peanuts since I was 2 years old and soy since about seven years ago. It is such a relief to have discovered this product as it opens so many more doors now! I will admit...I have been nervous to try it because of how similar it looks and smells to PB, but I am almost ready to give it a try :) On the other hand, my fiance has not eaten anything with peanuts in the six years we have been together, and let me tell you...he LOVES his Sun Butter! First of all, I can't thank you enough for your peanut-free products. When our daughter was diagnosed with a peanut allergy 2 years ago, she was so upset to have to lose her peanut butter! I was determined to find SOMETHING to replace it, and I did - SUNBUTTER! She loves the taste, almost to the point of liking it BETTER than peanut butter. I have one question - or request .... what can I do to make the consistency a little thicker? I know that the oil and the solid separate during the shipping and storing, so I'm diligent about refrigerating the sunbutter once I receive it and stir it up really well. But sometimes, that's not enough. The consistency is still a little runny, and when sending in on crackers in my daughter's lunch, she'll say later that the Sunbutter "seeped" out the sides of the crackers, making it a little messy to eat. Is there something I can do to help fix this problem? Thanks for your assistance - - and again, thank you for your product. It REALLY did fill a void in our daughter's diet!

My son LOVES your product! Truth be told, i had never heard of Sunbutter until my son came home from school a few weeks ago. I'm a roller derby skater and 6-7 hours of practice a week can lead to some some serious muscle cramps. I switched from peanut butter to Sunbutter as an easy (and tasty!) way to include more magnesium in my diet to help my muscles perform their best. I keep a jar at home AND a jar in my office at work! Our daughter is 10 years old and has life threatening reactions to peanuts and tree nuts. She has had food allergies since birth and has never eaten peanuts or tree nuts. A peanut challenge was done under a doctor’s care at Children’s Hospital. She did not tolerate them, the test was aborted, and an EPIPen is with us every second of the day. I stumbled upon the SunButter web site by accident a few weeks ago. I have never heard of it and contacted our local grocery to order it after I spoke with the allergy department at Children’s Hospital and got their OK. As my husband and I stood in the kitchen with car keys, phone, and EPIPen ready we gave our daughter the SunButter. I got a couple of Snac Paks at Veg Fest back in April, but didn't try it until today. I just squeezed some onto a split banana. Wow! It was delicious! Makes a great low-sugar (no sugar?) dessert. The on-the-go packs are an awesome idea. One problem with SunButter is that it LOOKS like peanut butter, so our peanut-allergic child is hesitant to bring it to school because people might THINK he is eating peanut butter and worry. Need Sunbutter in local stores. Had it in a Kroger 30 miles away. Requested it be sent to my local Kroger. They did it, but did not keep it on the shelf for long. They discontinued the item, so I bought it all at a cheap price, but cant get them to keep it on shelf. I have found one jar at Target, but they want over 8.00 dollars for one jar. I just cant find a cost effective way to keep it handy for my daughter. i have to pay over the price of another jar of sunbutter to get it shipped to me from your web site. Sadly, due to heart attack and antirejection medication I was allergic to all foods. I found I could eat saltine crackers, Herb Ox beef broth, and watermelon. This was my diet for five years. And then a friend found SunButter and ask me to try it. Thankfully, I found I was able to eat it and now with a cracker I have a sandwich. I was diagnosed with a variety of food allergies when I turned 21. It was and still is pretty hard to deal with. I can't just pick something up and eat it; I have to inspect it first. One thing I loved was peanut butter. I would eat it by the spoonfuls! Then, all of a sudden, I couldn't eat it anymore. I tried to get some "fake" peanut butter, but it tasted so terrible I decided I wouldn't even try it again. Then my fiance wanted to make me my favorite candy, buckeyes, but I am allergic to chocolate and peanuts. So he got caraco and Sunbutter and I had buckeyes for the first time in a year! My son that is 13 years old has a peanut allergy that we have known about since he was 6 months old we have always had to be very careful when we buy anything in the store everything has to read for peanut and tree nut because i have a tree nut allergy so my son has to stay away from tree nuts also and eating out is a pain also because we have to so careful but he can never eat a dessert out even at a birthday party no cake so anything sweet has to be made at home. the last few months i have been buying sunflower seeds to snack on and my son has been asking me what does peanut butter taste like i told him kinda like the sunflower seeds taste like and that got me to thinking i wounder if i coukd make sunflower seed butter in the food processer and i was at the store and started look in the nut free gluten free department and could not find any sunbutter but the i went to isle that peanut butter was on and in the far corner was sunbutter i and my son was excited but he was scared to get it because it was by the peanut butter so i waited a week and bought some it was a very scary for him to taste of it at first so i told he to just hold it on his tounge for a few minutes so he liked it but was nervous i told him i would make him this candy that i have been making since i was young and his dad and brothers had always enjoyed at christmas that he had never got to try because it had peant butter as main ingredent so last night i made him some with your sunbutter and he loved it i told him now his world had opened up to endless desserts that once he could not have because of peanut butter but now can have subing sunbutter inplace of pb so i just wanted to thank you your product has opened a new door to may sons life with sweets thank you.

Really wish you could manufacture it without soy. Most kids and adults who are allergic to peanuts use this product. And soy is a huge allergen as well for many. If this was made in a facility without soy, I would get it put into my son's school. We love the sunbutter, but wish we could rest assured that soy contamination was not of any concern.

At the age of 7 years old my grandson (Skyler) developed a peanut and soy allergy. So as you can imagine when he was told that those foods were unsafe for him to eat (we never told him that he could not have those foods we ALWAYS told him they were unsafe)we went through alot of emotions. It is extremely hard to watch and comfort a child while sitting in the middle of a Walmart aisle crying because he couldnt find anything that didnt have one or the other. So now we have past those obstacles and moved on. The foil cover under the lid has no tab on it for easy removal so you have to cut it off with a knife. Any thought to putting an easy pull tab on the foil lid so you can just lift it off? So we got our first thing of Sunbutter on Wednesday, by Thursday it was gone. I had originally ordered this for my husband and son to try to replace peanut butter in our home since my daughters are allergic (we also have allergies to tree nuts,egg, corn, fish, bell pepper, and celery in our home). Well when my oldest daughter who is now 11 was around the age of 2 before we knew she developed the peanut allergy - she loved peanut butter. When we discovered she was allergic it was devastating, and as the years went by she became more and more allergic. Her allergy is now airborne as well as contact. So I never in a million years thought she would even try the sunbutter, as I said I got it as an alternative for my husband and son who desperately miss peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So I get the product delivered to work from UPS - take it home, and she smells it - she is like well smells just like it but I aint dead yet. Then she wanted to taste it - she was very leery about this, took a small bite and waited a couple minutes. She says tastes just like i remember peanut butter tasting but I aint dead yet. So a few more minutes goes by and she grabs a spoon and starts eating it right out of the jar!!! Then the husband comes home, and eats 3 sunbutter and jelly sandwiches - he says - I can not even tell the difference!!! My son meanwhile is claiming he is in heaven and wants me to buy 100 more jars of the stuff. So eventually I make them stop eating it, telling them leave some for lunch tomorrow. I get home the next day and my daughter says - its gone - I snacked on it all day, when are we getting more. Yet my youngest daughter who is 9 - never cared for peanut butter even before we knew she was allergic. She wont even try it - it smells like it mom I am not trying it. So later on in the evening I say to my oldest daughter - so you REALLY like it? I was so surprised you even tried it. She says mom - I feel like all of my life I have had these chains on me and now they are broken. I know my food allergy to peanuts and treenuts is not gone but it is like I found a way to defy it and say to my allergy you didn't win, I found a way around you. Thank you for giving my daughter that.

I LOVE SunButter. I found it about a year and a half ago in the whole foods section at the grocery store looking for something else. Your product is incredibly delicious! Spread on a tart, crisp apple, it's a great alternative to cake or cookies, because it tastes just like a caramel apple. You need to market your product more -- I stumbled across it in the grocery store and gave it a try, but I never see any ads for it, and I don't know anyone else who's tried it. Your homepage seems to be largely telling a non-gluten story/non-peanut story, which is only appealing to a small niche of people; I'd play up the flavor story, and pitch SunButter as a novel, delicious alternative for people who like peanut butter.

As much as I know that I can't eat peanuts, I still miss the texture of eating straight crunchy peanut butter off a spoon or with apples. After 6 years, I was finally able to enjoy that! I LOVE this stuff! I work at a school who's owner only serves "Sunbutter" to the kids for snack b/c of peanut allergies. For the longest time, I would not touch the stuff just b/c I thought of it as the "peanut butter substitute" and couldn't imagine what it would taste like. But one day I was very hungary for a snack and saw the Sunbutter and some crackers and decided to try it. OMG! YUM! It was fabulous. I really liked it. I have since purchased the Sunbutter with the flaxseed, and the crunch and taste is phenomenal. Even my dog loves it (probably more than peanut butter). Well, now that's all I have instead of the usual PB. I eat small teaspoonfuls as a desert after my meal or as a snack. Excellent stuff!

I have never been so excited about a product. I have suffered from severe peanut allergies all my life and have struggled to find healthy and easy products for lunch, snacks and even trips. A gentleman on a plane a few weeks ago had a sample pack and I tried it when I got home. Never having eaten peanut butter, I did not have a comparison, but my husband and mother did. They said it was the same consistency and tasted very similar. All I know is that I loved it. It got to the point that that was all I wanted. It's great in a sandwich (of course with jelly), on fruit, and I have even tried several recipes from this website. The only thing I wish is that it was offered in more places. I can get it here, but have to make a special trip for it and there is no where to get it where my mom lives. I have told everyone about this product, regardless of allergies. It's a great alternative for anyone!

I was on an Alaska Airlines flight last week and ordered the Vegan Picnic Pack because it looked good in the photo. Inside was a SunButter cup. I had never heard of a nut butter made from Sun Flower seeds before and was skeptical. Boy was I surprised! I enjoyed the flavor so much that I peeled the top off and put in my wallet so I could go looking for this product back home. You have completely won me over with your delicous SunButter. I have been a peanut butter fan my whole life but not anymore, I LOVE SunButter. Thanks so much for making such a great product!
